I've been really, really busy lately, and I apologize for not posting anything for a while. I'm out on location again, and will be for another two weeks; storyboarding and assistant editing. I'll be posting some pictures of of the location and some of the props that I made; including an entirely filled sketchbook of the character's (the main prop of the film :) )

New Website!

Yes, finally my new website is up and you may find it here! I guess it's time to shut down the old portfolio blog. I'll be active on this blog as well as my new site.

New Sketchbook!

There's the first eight pages of the sketchbook I started last week. I've been trying to get a little "me" time in with my drawing recently. It's refreshing. Sometimes you gotta take a break from all that drawing and just draw. Know what I mean?

Didn't have a good reason to do this one, other than I got antsy the other night and wanted to draw some zombies and cowboys. I'm lovin' the Storyboard Pro drawing tools. Need to see how far I can tweak them.

Kitten of the Sea

PETA has announced their new campaign of ridding the word "fish" from society and replacing it with a more friendly name, so youngsters would feel hesitant to eat the fellers. The name they chose for our aquatic friends? Sea Kittens! Don't believe me? Check it out.

I like to think that I'm a progressive individual, so I'm proposing my new design for a popular treat.

Yay Toon Boom!

I loooooove Toon Boom Storyboard Pro. I know it's been around, but I finally took time to learn it (which took no time) and dove right into it's tools. It draws so much better than Sketchbook Pro with its vector-based, freehand lines. It does what it takes me to do in 5 apps, all at a one stop, cinematic extravaganza.

This is a rough cover for the film I'm working on right now. I'm storyboarding this full-length live action independent feature and I can't wait to hit the set for this one. It's beautiful and poetic, so I was trying to capture that feeling here. I won't be posting any more than this for the film until it's released, but I promise you, this thing will - be - beeeaaaauuuuutiful!

Yay! Just found out that it won the Concrete Jungle Contest. Here's the Winner's Page. It's going to be the cover art for the DVD and DVD menu for QD3's upcoming documentary "Concrete Jungle." A market I never considered, but definitely open to, as being a jack of all trades.

Hey, Howdy, Hey! (50 bonus points if you can name that animation reference). This was another submission that I didn't have time to take to finish, but I thought I'd throw it their way anyways. Ehhhhh, I'm only going to finish it if I'm asked to. I'm a little busy at the moment. Yay wood grain! By the way, the reference "Hey, Howdy, Hey" comes from Toy Story 2. It's the record that Jessie, Woody, and the Prospector sing to. Woody and Jessie run and dance on the record while it spins. What a nerd I am.

This is a little job that I did for my uncle. It's a picture of he and my aunt that was water damaged after their last house caught fire. It was in poor shape as you can see. It's missing large areas of the image, especially on her, so I did all I could to graph it from other areas. That highlight on the back of her head was bugging me too.

DONE

Ok, sooo...I'm not happy with the text, but I'm using it as a placeholder for now, until I find another type that I like (this one makes my piece look to asian). I'm trying to do a neon sign look. Still considering some other clever ideas for the text, I just need to figure out how to make them work. The arrows are more placeholders. I haven't even touched the ground, but it'll be fairly simple anyways. Most of it will be in a motion blur. After all that, I'm just going to unify some of my hues in the skin more. It's not quite matching the palette. Bla bla bla...goodnight.

This is a WIP for a contest. It's for a black/latino documentary, and I hope they don't find out that I won the "White Boy of the Year" contest in 2007. Most of it is still laid in a bit and roughed-in. More to come.

Got bored last night...what have I done?

For all of those who aren't paintball savvy, this is a Halo B loader. At least it was before I desecrated it. It's a container that loads your paintballs into the chamber very very quickly. I'm getting back into my paintball game and thought I'd add a little illustrated flavor into it. Of, course I'd be open to doing commissions.

Here's a really quick one from tonight. Mmmmm...about 4 hours from thumbnail to finish. More like an elaborate beat board than a concept piece. I think I'll do a proper prop design layout for this one.

New Sketchbook

Well, it's been a week and a half since my last sketchbook got stolen out of my bag. The cover was a pretty, attractive, beveled green leather piece that wrapped around the actual sketchbook. So I had the opportunity to spoil myself with come new materials. Here's a few pages from my new one.
